GenBlue final session & programme outcomes

Herland CERVEAUX from the OceanHub Africa team recently hosted the final GenBlue session to close off the 7-month programme, a first of its kind for the continent.

GenBlue was a training and mentorship programme designed to support a select group of Southern African hubs to build their own bluetech-specialised programmes.

Of the 9 innovation support organisations that participated in the programme:

🌊 6 blue programmes were launched
🌊 2 sector research projects completed
🌊 3 hubs hired people to manage or support their blue vertical

We had a blast working on this project with the OceanHub Africa and the Make-IT in Africa team. We also loved meeting all of the participating hubs, who each displayed such a unique and fiery passion for the blue economy. Congratulations to all of you on completing the programme!

This programme was made possible by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, implemented by Make-IT in Africa, Viridian and OceanHub Africa.
